Good Afternoon,
Would anyone want to try and identify this snake I found raking leaves around the house !
It is a copper color , but also has some markings like a garder snake !

That looks to be of the 'No Thank You' subspecies.

I’m not sure what it is but it doesn’t look like any garter snake I’ve ever seen. Gopher snake??

Interesting that what we call Garter Snakes actually are 35 different subspecies across the USA. Around here they are mostly black with a white stripe or black with a red stripe. I don't think I've ever seen one with such a golden color.

Harmless to humans. They do have a stinky smell if you handle them.
