Snow Pusher`s

Please post a bunch of pictures anyways. I`m gettin ready to build a 54in pusher for my BX23s, so i win the small award...lol

Well, be happy to send you pics whether I figure out how to post or not. Hopefully next weekend but, that depends on some factors I'm not in control of. But, I'll do what I can.

Ironically, I bought a snow blade last Spring that came off of a Steiner tractor of some sort. If I remember correctly, it's about a 54". I was in the process of gathering the material to build a sub-frame to fit on my tractor when I came across the 702a Ford blade, the exact blade made for my Ford 1210. It even comes with both lift and rotational hydraulics cylinders and hoses. Had to talk the seller out of the tractor frame mounts but, once that was done, I sent the money and my BIL picked the blade up on his way through..............

I really don't get enough snow in Central Kentucky to justify a snow blade but, it's like that Tonka Toy set as a kid, it ain't no fun unless you have all the stuff that goes with it. So, I now have two snow blades. Ever get to Kentucky?

Make the sides removable so that you can use it as a dozer blade in the dirt when it isnt snowing.
YUP, i`ve been to kentucky a few times... beautiful area.

I picked up a junk Woods 74" rear mount snow thrower for $50 with the idea of rebuilding it. Turns out it was too far gone and would have been too expensive to restore. I tore the auger, fan and chute off and modified the bare frame to use as a pusher. I got a 3pt to QA adapter and used it for several years on the FEL of my old L3010. Unfortunately, it was a few years back and I don't have any pictures.

I built mine several years ago for my bx25 then added a back drag. I recently modified it to use on the ssqa on my BX23s. It also works great for pushing piles of topsoil an pushing piles of brush. I made the back out of 3/16 so it will take a lot of abuse.

NICE JOB...!!!!!!!!
I`m hoping for a similar design like yours with the quick attach. I also have the BX23s tractor...love that lil tractor.
I was thinkin of the same thing, use it to push other things around besides snow.

If you live in a farming community like I do, junk yards are full of old farm equipment. My brother found a beat up rusted 84" FEL bucket off some unknown tractor. He cut the bottom and top off, leaving metal in the corners for support. He welded a QA adapter on the back and after a coat of orange paint it looked like a new implement. He's still using it on his L3430. If I get over to his place over the holidays, I'll take some pictures. An 84 incher would be a bit heavy for a BX but you might find an old 72" bucket around somewhere to modify.

Thats a GREAT idea...!!!!! And we do have a couple huge tractor salvage yards about 3 to 4 miles from my house.
I`ll have to go there an look around this weekend... never know what i might find! Maybe even some pallet fork arms might be sitting there.

bdhsfz6,
after reading your post, i played around with the thought of just buying a wider bucket and fabricating the bottom to slide-n-lock on an off the bucket. One bucket, two uses so to speak. Probably more work than its worth though, taking the bottom plate in an out of the main bucket. The SSQA way is much less to deal with. BUT, an extra bucket sitting around will take up valuable room, which i do not have in my garage. Either way, coming in here on this forum and reading what some of you guys are doing or have done, it is just simply, priceless. The pictures even make it better. So many thanks to you all for such awesome pics & ideas.

I also took a shot at making a snow pusher by adding wings to the bucket on my tractor. No snow yet but looking forward to giving it a workout.
