Hi all. Trying to help my brother identify the manufacturer of his snowblower which our dad bought when we were kids. Purchased around 1969 or 1970 in northwestern Wisconsin. Its 78 inches, and my brother seems to recall it being painted yellow originally. Have not found any tags or markings on it, but it has been repainted a few times. Probably a long shot, but thought I would put it out there. The wooden box is obviously an add-on. Thanks.

At that age I doubt anyone will identify it.

However I bet all wear components are simply 'off the shelf' from any industriel supplier.
Take it apart and match up all bearings and you'll have a like new performing blower.
Id bet you'd have change from $100.

Yeah, sort of figured that, but thought it might be worth a try. The driveline yoke is what needs to be replaced. Local implement told him it appears to be a series 14 yoke, but the ones he has found on the shelf have the shear pin hole drilled in the center where this one is drilled closer to the bore. He would like to avoid re-drilling, but might need to.

I would rotate the new yoke 90° and drill a new hole for the shear pin there.
Or if you want to get really fancy, put on a slip clutch or one of the PTO shafts that has a built-in place for a shear pin.

Is there a key way on the gearbox pto shaft?

My old McKee blower only used the bolt thru the yolk to hold it on the shaft.

The shear bolt was on the tractor end.

No, there is no key way. The bore of the yoke has just gotten sloppy and was hoping to replace it with something off the shelf, but it appears something off the shelf will need to be re-drilled to put the shear pin in the correct location.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just use whatever is available and make it work. On something that old there would be no parts available anyway.

We had around same age that was yellow and white. I think it was an Erskine but surely would not bet the farm on that.
