In general, people think (wrongly) that a 'maintenance free' flooded cell battery is just that. They aren't. They need to have the fluid level checked in them as well and only distilled water added as a makeup. Maintenance free flooded cell batteries are less maintenance than screw top cells but still require monitoring.

I've used an earlier version of this 1.5 Watt Solar Battery Charger
for quite a few years. 1.5 watts is about 1/10 amp which is not going to fry an automotive battery.
The chargers go to about 13.2 volts.

I have vehicles that can sit for months, and these have made a difference.

I have 4 of theses running deer feeders, game cameras, on a Kawasaki mule that the stator went out on.
