Starting my 40'x60' Pole Barn

Why no diagonal bracing on this building? I see none on the walls and none on the underside of the top chord of the trusses. I thought this was pretty much standard procedure all over.

The 3' wide metal will be the support. Nothing will move after it's all on. Also the 6x6's are 4' in the ground set with concrete and rebar. Most houses only have plywood on the corners, no diagonal braces either.

You probably could have gotten a lot of strength from diagonal 2x4s going from post to post and nailed to the wall girts. That would add a lot of stiffness and resist shear movements up above the ground. Sheathing on homes has the exact same effect -- it's now considered structural, and eliminates the need for diagonals.

I'm close to finishing my project. Doing a little landscaping and odds and ends. Added 4 pics of the shelter also. Over all the contractor did a good job just took too long.

Thanks guys!
Ended up with enough insulation and metal left to finish the front and side of container. Also enough metal and a lot of lumber to add a 9'x40' lean to across the back for the Kubota and attachments. Contractor said supplier sent too much metal and he had too many 2x10's and 2x6's and left them for me. Just have to round up some cheap help since I'm not in too good of shape :) Entire job came in under $50K.
