Stihl 038 Mag Replacemnet

What current model equals the Stihl 038 Mag?
It seems that Stihl makes saws now in cc's below or above their previous models.

The MS 441 Magnum seems the be the closest. The 038 Magnum is a 72cc saw and the MS 441 Magnum is a 70.7 cc saw.

If you presently have an 038 mag, You would be far better off having it rebuilt with oem parts than swapping for the present garbage everyone is offering. That 038 mag is pretty bullet proof and one of the best saws ever made by anyone. Now saw have computers, so you can't even work on them. And the prices of the new saws a pretty crazy. Just my two cents. I trade my 038 and have regretted it ever since.

I tend to agree with bobmisi if you already have one. I have the 038 Mag II and it's a beast. The newer saws have the advantage of being a little lighter, but the 038 mag is legendary for it's power & durability. To replace it with new is around $900

If you don't have one, check around. You may find a good used one.

I would love to have an 038. The 441 or the 461 would be the closest saws today, but figure on spending 900-1000 dollars for them.
