I tried slick 50 a few years ago and believe it or not the stuff really works. It lasts for about 35000-40000 miles (the bottle says 50000 but I found it doesn't last that long) after adding to one of your regular oil changes. In my truck it quieted the lifters, reduced oil consumption and increase gas milage by 1-2 mpg. The truck has 240000 miles and has been treated 3 times since I've owned it and is over due for another treatment that will last until about 280000 miles. I also put it in my boat and without doing anything else, picked up over 200 rpms and about 2 miles per hour in speed. I'm sorry, but you can't tell me slick 50 doesn't work. Oh yah, last year the auto trans. in the truck was starting to shift a little funny-nothing major just shifting a little hard. I put in the slick 50 trans. treatment and it cured the problem. That's been about 20000 miles ago and it's still shifting great. These are gas engines and I don't think I'd put it in a diesel engine. I did that with a ford 6.9 years ago and I don't know if I had other problems or the slick 50 increased the cylinder pressure too much, but I ended up with two cracked heads about 2 years later or about 40000 miles. I'm pretty sure I had other problems but? By the way, by no means do I drive my vehicles easy. Just thought you'd like to here from some one how has had great results with one of those snake oil products.

You've got my attention.....

Can you explain how it does all that?

From what I understand, it coats all the moving parts and friction points with something. It adheres to the metal and stays adhered even after oil changes. Don't know what the stuff that's in it is but I'm pretty sure it's not teflon. All I know is it work. I first heard of the stuff through a friend that sold it before it came on the market in the stores. He had a small gas engine (3 1/2HP I think) that had been treated and then all the oil drained out. hHe started it and the engine ran fine with no oil in it. Don't know how long you could run it but it ran long enough to impress me and I was far from his first demenstration with this engine. you just replace one quart of oil with the quart of slick 50 at oil change. Leave it in until the nest oil change (3000mi) and then change oil as usual after that.

I'm glad it works well for you, even if you don't fully understand how it works.

If, on the other hand, your curiosity ever gets the best of you and you would like to find out how it really does work, type in 'Slick 50' in an internet search engine (I like Google.com) and see what turns up.

I have to go with all natural. No additives it is a waste of money. Just change your oil and filters per manufacture and you won't have any problems I've done it with a 1984 240 Volvo (240,000 miles), Ford 8N(no idea how many hours), 1993 Ford Escort ( 184,000 miles), 1993 Chev S10 124,000 miles, and 1995 Dodge Cummins Diesel (98,000 miles) and have had no engine lubrication problems such as burning oil ect.. Maybe I just got lucky but, I don't think so. Plus I spent 20 years 4 months and 11 days in the world's finest Navy and they never put any aditives in fuel or oil. Go natural!

I searched. I saw. Now I'm not (pretty sure about anything). It does have teflon. Oh well. I was not the first owner of this truck and it used some oil when I bought it (135000+) so I thought I'd give it a try. That's been well over 100000 mi ago and it did everything it said it would do. I don't think I'll be using it in any of my other rigs again but I'll still use it in my p/u truck as long as it continues to work. Thanks for the info.
