Stuck clutch

IIRC I used to lock the clutch down in reverse and pulling a truck backwards.

Could be a bad throw-out bearing
I'm pretty sure the throw-out bearing is good because I can feel the pressure on it

I've tried starting it in all 4 gears in low range with the clutch held down and then hitting the brakes hard, which worked fine in the past when it did it, but hasn't helped at all this time

1. Chain the tractor to a stout tree, put in in reverse in a low gear and back up

2. Use a stout tree and drive the tractor forward
Unless the clutch is behind the transmission, which I doubt, your clutch and clutch force are always in the same direction with the engine, irregardless of whether you are going forward or backwards

Not sure how that is relevant but if you say it is, it must be.
