I have a T1400H, serial no. 16450 (early model). It has a 13.5 HP Kawasaki gas engine.

The engine starts great and runs fine on choke. When I pull down the throttle lever and fully release the choke, it begins to run erratically as if the engine were starved for fuel. When the choke is released, the next throttle setting is 'fast'. Dropping the throttle any lower than where the choke disengages kills the engine.

I have dropped the carb bowl, removed the main jet, and sprayed exposed parts with carb cleaner to no effect. The fuel filter is new and fuel flow is good. I have not removed the carb completely or done anything with the pilot valves.

The workshop manual is not very detailed on carb rebuilding, I am wondering if anyone has done it, or can offer any possible solutions to my problem.

Thanks!
