Terra-Dome Earth Shelter Build

This was one of my favorite builds. How has living in the house been? Does it perform like you expected? I'm really curious what it takes to heat and cool it.

My dad's is 40 x 76 ft and is fully exposed on the south side. The outside walls are 12" concrete and there are 2 inside walls that are 10". The roof is 10" Flexcore at 22' spans and a 10' sunroom on the south end. About 4" of concrete was poured on top of the flexcore to tie everything together and to plug the end holes and gaps. The waterproofing goes on, then the styrofoam sheeting, then sand, then backfill. He has a full 4 feet of dirt on top. He uses a woodstove to heat and a dehumidifier in the summer...no a/c needed. You do not open the windows or leave the garage open on hot/humid days. Light comes from all the glass on the south end and the "tunnel" going to the 2 bedroom windows. No regrets.

So we made the move to be off grid for electric. We purchased much of the system a few years back, but we are much closer now. Our system can produce 17600 watts continuous power at 240 volts or 120 volts. Find parts can be a challenge so get it while you can.
