Terramite T5C - Turn the key and nothing happens

/ Terramite T5C - Turn the key and nothing happens #11
pcerra, depending on year and engine (Honda, Kohler) you first want to determine if your 'ignition' is 'ground to stop' (old way) or 'ground to run' (modern 'safer'). If it's the former, like my '98 w/Honda power, you can find a generic switch at most any auto parts store, but look for an "M" terminal for 'ground to stop' built into it. (connect 'M' to both coils)

A common automotive relay/socket can be used to provide 'M' (magneto 'stop') function by using NC terminals and also tying in lo-oil shutdown switch. (can easy show you how I did it) Terramite owners, PM me anytime or ask here for help with either type of T5C wiring setup. t o g
Having a heck of a time matching up old wires to new ignition switch. For example where would the r plug from old switch go into new!

I'm in touch with ajt123 by PM and will gladly help anyone with wiring up a new switch. There will likely be terminals not used and the older Kohler Command (vs Courage) is simpler to hook up.

These and older Honda (GX620) are Ground to Stop vs now-common ground to run. No prob as a relay can be used with switches that have no 'M' terminal, which is grounded in the switch's off position.

Kohler Courage (vs Command) has several wires coming from it and there is a risk of damage if 12v is applied to the wrong one. This shows the simplicity of early T5C wiring with OEM Kohler Command power.
