Help! Need to Remove Snow Blower Shaft

Does anyone have an idea on how to remove the gear box from the auger shaft of the snow blower, a TG2742?

The shaft is keyed and the gear box slides nicely up and down the shaft, but when I get to the shear pin holes, it stops. I looked at the schematics, don't see anything that would hold it except there seems to be a little bump on the shaft at both holes. So does this mean I have to do the unthinkable? Take the gear box apart? I really don't' want to do that. So if that is the case, I welcome all advice because me and gears don't exactly get along.

The other thing I noticed after everything mechanical was out is that to the right of the fan housing, the back of the blower, not the fan housing, is not flush. It appears to be flared out. Is this my rock again or did Kubota purposely flair this.

It's snowing hard outside

I think I need to post the picture of the rock, it comes free with my wife.
