The 3930 is 45 PTO HP, the 4630 is 55. The 3930 and the 4630 were both turbo'd in the later model years, primarily due to emissions regulations. Both were built with 192 and 201 cid engines during their model runs, with the 192 cid engine being turbo'd in the 4630 and then in the 3930 near the end of it's run. I'd go with the 4630 for the power advantage as well as it being offered with up to 16.9 x 30 inch rear tires while the 3930 was maxed out with 14.9 x 28's. The 4630 would be better for baling hay in my opinion.

So how did they get 10 more hp out of the same engine? It looks like 4630s run a few grand more on average. Is this accurate in your opinion?

the 3930 will pull a 4x4 round baler like a nh 638 or john deere 335 with no problem. and it will also pull a square baler with no problem. but for pulling a 4x5 round baler a 4830 or 5030 is the way to go

3930 was still a ford built tractor and the tn 60 is a fiat heston style tractor which in my opinion is worth anything. i would take the 3930 over any tn tractor

Uh oh. I have a TN 55 that I purchased in 2000. I haven't put a lot of hours on it and haven't had any problems to date. Are there potential problems that I should anticipate?

not if u have taken care of it . just the parts or alot higher for the tn tractors. i have and i dont they only had one or two units with that same drive train while u can use parts off of all 30 series tractor to interchange with each other even with the 4610
