Tractors are like mattress money. They're not like a consumable item, like fuel or groceries, theater tickets, or hiring a contractor, that once you spend it, it's gone. You still have that money! Now it's in the form of a tractor, instead of some data bits on a banks computer that are printed out in a statement and mailed to you once in a while. Many times when you sell that tractor, you get the same money you put into it. (i.e. if $ inflation > depreciation) Sure there was maintenance costs , but you got to use the tractor, unlike if that money was sitting in the bank.
