Hopefully it works out ok. I can relate to the making chips thing, having a lathe and mill along with all the other metal working "stuff" makes time spent building or repairing a pleasure instead of a chore. Also in my case, being retired takes the pressure off.

after some delay I finally finished the mower. the rotor repair came out much better than expected. no vibraion at all

just and Update, two years later, mower is still working fine, no damage to the grease zerk that is mounted in the bearing housing inside the mower on the rotor , I did hard face the grass blades the last time I changed the blades out. I used a powder hard facing torch, blades blades have lasted about 4 times longer than usual. I know hardfacing blades is not recommended there is risk of the hard facing chipping and causing injury or property damage,
