Hi there:
Can anyone tell me the valve clearance on my tractor?
It is a Foton 404, 40 hp, 3 cyl diesel.

   / Valve Clearance #2  
Please check the engine label and advise what it says. Depending upon the engine, they're typically located on the top of the valve cover, on the side of the valve cover, or on the side of the block (usually under the intake manifold).

No problem. Unfortunately I don't know that engine, so we'll have to hope someone pops by that's got the SL3105BT

I emailed to affordable tractors, alas, they do not know the required settings.............

If your engine runs in the upper (desirable) temp. range of 180°F to 195°F then .014" for intake and .016" for exhaust.
If your engine runs in the lower range of 140°F to 170°F then .012" for intake and .014" for exhaust.
