you need to run it till warm to flash off any moisture in the engine oil.

if it was residual water from setting outside.. hopefully most of it went with the draining.

run straight water in the rad till you know more.. drain at night if in freezing weather. water inthe bearings is not as bad as coolant in the bearings!

i think I might be tempted to run a ounce or 2 of seafoam and some atf dex/merc3 inthe oil as well during this time.

as for a filter... check for a screen behind the tube entering the hyd sump casting.

Well, I drained the hydraulic out of it. It had nearly 2.5 gallons of fluid in there. I think whomever read the manual thought that 2.2L was the same as 2.2g.
This was a bit disappointing as well.

it might have had 2.2l of oil and LOTS of water.. :)

I really think if you follow the earlier advice.....you're going to be fine. Don't forget the hyd. screen.....clean it before new fluid is put in. I still recommend you send this thread over to the yanmar forum.....some real good knowledge over there!.:2cents:
