What a Day, met two other TBN\'rs
We all agreed to meet at one TBN'rs farm. Seems he has a fairly new TN 75 turbo job with two rear tires that were flat. Luckily for him, they were only flat on the bottom. Trouble was, they and the tractor were way out there, I mean way, way out there. Anyway, we get both once loaded rear tires off and drag them back 1800 feet or so through woods, puckerbrush, over old rock walls, you name it, just to get to the outer edge of a field. Here he comes with his 76 model 2 + 2 Yugo sedan, pulling a two sled snowmobile trailer. The trailer was twice the size and width of this old Yugo. We place, flat, both rear AG tires on this trailer which was complete with 3.75/3/3.25 tires.
The 2 + 2 (which I had to ask about) the first two means two of four doors still open and close. The second two refers to the four cylinder engine.. Seems yugo's run 1 and 3 simutaneously then 2 and 4 cylinders the same. Guess it's for more torque. Couldn't believe though, that old Yugo pulled those 900 lbs each tires right on out that field and onto the road. A few sparks here and there, snowmobile trailer tires were so flat the side of the rims were causing sparks as he motivated on down the road.
I have to admit, I never thought much of those 2 + 2 Yugo's other than they could be a spare tire for Chevy Vega's or Ford Pinto's. Proved to be a fine machine pulling all that weight. Hope to run into these guys again as it really made my day..
