What type of Dozer is this?

It looks like my old john deere crawler loader . Mine was a jd 1010 but it was 4cyl diesel. That pic looks like a late 50s early 60s jd 430 c. Just a guess but they had two cyl gas john deere motors. .......Craig

it is definately a john deere 440 ICD with a John deere 831 loader on it. Looks like they have taken off the rear weights and added a homemade rops. It has dry clutches and may not steer if it has sat for a while. I had one with the detroit 2 cylinder in it. probably a '59 or '60 model. rick

Well first of all technically it's not a dozer, it's a track loader- see the relatively flat grousers and other obvious appendages.
I'll bet it's a Deere, maybe late '50's because there are striking similarities to the one here.

I would agree that it is a Deere 440. Here is one with a DD engine.

It turns out that the plugs were fouled. I put in a couple of new ones in and she fired right up.
