The new one, after 200+ hours is:
Way louder, likelike hearing protection is totally necessary with this thing, and
Weaker, which is really strange to me

I like it, but only ever owned Kubota, so really don’t know.

Can anyone move this to an appropriate place in the forum? Hey a legitimate user of moderation. 🤣

You might try going to "FORUMS" scroll down until you see "Kubota Owning and Operating" open that and post your question and then delete the thread in "Food Plots"

Are the two similarly equipped (transmission, etc.)? The older tractor will not have the same pollution controls as the newer one. Compare the torque between the two tractors.

I have a 2015 L3301HST and won't run it without hearing protection, mostly because of the transmission noise.
It doesn't whine anywhere near as much now though, since I started using the Super HST fluid.

Was the old one gear and new one HST?

Both are HST. The old one was really smooth and quiet, the new one screams. I changed the fluid with AW68, no change in scream

I had a L3301 and you can adjust the hydraulic pressure if needed. I think it can be adjusted to 2600 psi. Some owners have reported that their pressure was set at 2000-2200 psi at the factory. High pressure will give you more lifting capacity.

Interestingly, my Kubota tech at the dealership told me that no 2 tractors will ever dyno the same, some output more, some output less. Case in point is my M9 open station. Had it in for an overhead adjustment and injector pop test and my dealer put it on his pto dyno and it's making 93 pto which is substantially above what Kubota rates it it. Kubota rates it at 82 pto and no, pump has never been fiddled with.

Well it makes me question just what two tractors you are comparing.

The 3301 and 3901 are only 4hp apart. They have the same engine and transmission. And both came out in 2014. So what tractor you have from 2003 I have no idea

Also worth noting that if you replaced all the hydro fluid with a generic AW68....that is FAR FROM the correct fluid.

People swear by the Kubota branded SUDT. It's what I use also in my HST. I don't drink the Kool aid enough to swear by it....but I would NEVER put a straight AW hydraulic oil in a modern tractor transmission, and especially never in a HST
