I am looking at a fairly new Land Pride 2660 brush mower to use on my Kubota B7610. As I understand it my Kubota has about 18 hp. at the PTO and I would like to know if that is sufficient to operate the Land Pride 2660 medium grade mower. The literature I find on the net so far says the 2660 is recommended for the low 20 to 110 hp tractors and I take that to mean the overall hp. of the tractor. In the case of my 7610 that would be 24 hp. Anyone got some good advice for me? Thanks, Mike

If you have your numbers correct on the mower, the RCR2660 is rated for 40hp to 110hp on the Land pride Website. It shows that it weighs 1002 lb. My thought is that is too much weight for your tractor.

I have a B2920 and use a 5' Bushhog Squeeler which is probably more equal to the LandPride RCR1860 and I know it is back there. Even with the loader on the back, if I have it off the ground traveling across the property, you feel it bouncing the tractor. It will spin it ok, but the weight is a lot. Also when mowing with mine, it tends to sag down in the front and you have to keep bumping it up to keep the front from dragging as they don't have guage wheels.

The weight on a rotary mower is carried way back and it much diffent than even something like a box blade.

I agree on the weight issue. I have a 4' Squealer Bush Hog, and feel it is well matched to my B2620. I needed the smaller size for some tight areas, and have not wanted much more weight back there.

I'd recommend looking for a 1660.

I have a 4' one that weights around 450-500 on my 7610 and would never go any heaver. Even with the loader on my front wheels will lift a bit on steep hills (going up). The hog sits so far back it places a LOT of leverage on the machine and I believe anything heavier would be very unsafe.

I have a Woods 54" on my B2620 (new version of your 7610). Even with the FEL on, the 500lbs of the cutter makes my front end light on steep hills. I am not sure you could even lift a 1,000lb implement!

That mower is definitely too big and heavy for a 7610. Like others have mentioned, I have a 4 footer and it is a good match.

Thanks! Everyone! That makes my eBay bidding decision soooo much easier. I was conflicted with some of the info I had found but just as I thought...real experience from folks like you makes the difference. I will continue to look for a good (better) match (at a good price, of course) for my 7610. Thanks for the quick response to my question. Mike
