- 05 Kioti CK30HST w/ Prairie Dog backhoe, XN08 mini-X
I used a hoe that is a bit heavier than the Woods on my JD955,
which out-weighs the 855. I built a close-coupled subframe and
my hoe dragged the tractor around VERY easily. Weights were:
tractor, 1970#, 70A FEL, about 750#, Prairie Dog hoe 1100#, subframe,
200#. Weight is a bigger concern than power. I think the Woods
BH6000 or the 6500 is a better match for the JD855. My JD955
was rated 33hp, but the same hoe works much better on my Kioti
CK30, which is rated 30hp, but weighs about 1200# more.
As for the subframe, the one pictured makes no use of the ROPS
connection or the toplink. The 3-pt on the 855/955 is very light-duty
and can not even LIFT the hoe.
