Hello
Got a Woods RM660 mowing deck from an auction. Turns out the shaft has a bad gear / broken cog in the gearbox. Looking around what makes a finish mower gearbox different from a brush hog? I see universal gear boxes, but they all say brush hog. A new Woods brand gear box far exceeds making it worth it. What are my repair options? Or do I have a 3 point paper weight?

My guess is the ratio, I am thinking a finish mower spins faster than a brush hog.
Have you checked for replacement parts? Or only sold as complete gear box?

From what I could find it looks like a 1.76-1 ratio gearbox. If the ratio was right or close enough and it fit, wouldnt matter what the gearbox was for.
