2950 John Deere
bought it new, last year they made them, i think it was 86
Model Year: 1986

2wd, no cab. still own it and use it all the time. think I paid about $23K. main uses hay, bushhog, and disc. have never had to work on engine in almost 30 years. have replaced or rebuilt water pump and starter maybe 2 times each. clutch once at 7000 hrs. main hyd pump and trans hyd pump once each. steering pump once. several other assorted repairs, nothing major. it has been a good tractor. has had 2 skilled/experienced operators for 90+% of hrs. this makes a huge difference in how long it lasts. I would be wary of one this old that had been sold several times and has had many different operators.

Pros: dependability
Cons: i have heard other owners say the hyd system was problematic

This tractor is built very solidly, but as with all tractors, this age things are beginning to wear out after only 3,143hrs. The injector pump leaks bad, and the engine overheats even when not under load.

Pros: Easy cold weather start-up and has an awsome turning radius.
Cons: Diesel fuel injection pump.
