I bought this tractor new in March 1983. This tractor is awesome. I have used this tractor for mowing grass to pulling boats, pulling stumps, to getting my neighbor's car unstuck in snow. The starter does drag, that is until I switched to synthetic oil. That cured my dragging starter. Very reliable. One problem I've had twice is the float sticking in carburetor, and letting raw gas fill the crankcase.

Pros: Reliable as the sun. Cheap to keep.
Cons: Expensive to purchase.

Guys I just bought the rig from a gentleman that bought it new and I have not cut with it as of yet. But as soon as I use it I will give my review. The original owner said he has not had a lick of trouble with it and all the reviews I have read seem to say the same thing. One thing that I can say is, this rig caught my eye by the way it was built back in the day. After talking with a good friend that I work with that re-builds small tractors/lawn mowers, he told me I would not be disappointed. Wanted a lawn tractor I could just do simple repairs and have it for awhile and not just discard it and go buy another. So with this being said, I will get out of here and give a review or ask repair questions a little later on. Ya'll take care of yourselves.

Pros: Built solid and tough.
Cons: ?

This is a great little tractor, tough as nails and ready for work. My only complaint is the Kohler M-18 engine. If the weather is cold, the starter will disengage before the engine has a chance to fully start. This problem is even predicted in the owner's manual. Very frustrating but am willing to live with it for now. I have a QA 42 blower which works great and is the perfect size for this tractor.

Pros: Great build quality.
Cons: Starter problems in cold weather.
