AK2840 Ag King
Project
Model Year: 2007

Bought this little tractor as a tinkering project in the winter. It is kind of old school design and performance.

Pros: Cheap tractor.
Cons: Mail order parts.

AK2840 Ag King
Ag King 2840/Jima 284?
Model Year: 2006

I think this AK 2840 is the same as the Jinma 284. Bang for the buck, I don't think you can beat it. It's a 4x4 which works well with a Koyker 140 front loader. It seemed like a no brainer for the price. I bought it used for $6,300.00 and it came with a 16ft. trailer, brush hog, 5ft. box blade and post hole digger. Great little tractor for the small jobs. I have a Kubota M6800 for the bigger jobs such as plowing and hay work.

Pros: Never failed to start, road speed is good, 4x4 is good, all around pretty decent little tractor.
Cons: On really cold days it cranks a little while before hitting. Getting in and out of cockpit. Radiator leaking a little bit around seam on drain plug.

Decent tractor for the money. Bought it second hand with 125hrs. Got 200 hrs. on it now. Needed a smaller tractor for the place. Other tractor is a Kubota M6800. The AG does what it needs to do. The 4x4 is nice. I can let it sit there for months and it fires right off. Radiator started leaking about 150hrs. Gear select is a little sloppy. Other than that pretty good for the price. $6,300.00 for the tractor, 5ft rotary cutter, post hole digger, front loader, box blade and 16ft. trailer. Guy was in a bind and needed to sell it.

Pros: Starts every time.
Cons: China built, sloppy gear select

Bought this tractor knowing it had rear main seal issues. Ordered all the parts from Affordable Tractor parts they had everything in stock including manuals. When I tore it down I found the problem was the clutch (bell) housing bolts were all loose. Replaced them with grade 8, installed new seal and clutches and it has ran like a top since. Next project is a rear remote.

Pros: Cost/quality.
Cons: Cost/quality.
