1949 John Deere Model BW
Model Year: 1949

The tractor was in tough shape, just barely running. I wanted the wide front end to accommodate a front end loader more safely. The mechanical problems have been mostly corrected. I found a model 45W front end loader. I converted the drop bucket mechanism to hydraulic cylinders. I added a live hydraulic pump with a ten gallon reserve tank. Now the steering is too heavy, so I am adding power steering next.

Pros: It is fun having an old 2 cylinder tractor that can be used for moving manure around. I love the sound of these old machines.
Cons: It has taken a lot of work, engineering and cost to get to where I would like it.

Restored
Model Year: 1946

When bought the tractor it ran. But we ended up overhauling it, new head, pistons. Then we repainted the tractor it was a lot of work but worth it when done.

Pros: Really a nice little tractor.
Cons: When you restore a old tractor it takes a lot of time and money.

1947 John Deere B

I don't know that I can say much that has not already been mention. I knew what I was looking for, a 1947 B, the year I was born and I wanted a tractor that was in good running order. I was blessed to find one in show condition, with a parade seat and for a very reasonable price.

Pros: Show condition.
Cons: None.

Pros: The best in its era.
Cons: No live PTO, parts.

Old Putt Putt

It was stolen 3 years ago, but while we had it and it was used it was a good unit.

Pros: Its a Deere.
Cons: None.
