B6000 Kubota
Critical Part Needed
Model Year: 1978

My little B6000 has done sterling work but recent servicing exposed corrosion on the radiator hose connection of the dynamo assembly part no 15231-6401-2. I am looking for any help to locate this part second hand (they stopped production!)

Pros: Great little tractor
Cons: Getting this part is problematic and it is difficult to fix (alloy casting)

I have a 38" loader on the front and a 40" tiller on the back. I also have the CCW to CW PTO adapter on the rear. This is a little beast, although I wish it had a bit more power when I sink the tiller into the ground. It is great in mud and snow.

Pros: Stronger than expected given its engine size, 4-wheel drive is great help
Cons: I am 6'-5" tall and fitting into seat is a chore [though reversing the shift lever is easy and a great help!

I have owned the machine for 14 years. It was originally used to clear a 4 acre block using a 3' slasher. It now gets used mainly for carrying things around the yard and the odd bit of slashing. It has been a very reliable machine with plenty of power for its size.

Pros: Very powerful compact machine.
Cons: It is a little bit light and narrow and could be easily rolled over on hilly terrain.

Kubota Garden Tractor
Model Year: 1976

Although we only recently acquired this tractor, it starts every time easily, seems to have plenty of power, and has "big tractor" features.

Pros: Good on fuel, easy starting, good power, a real tractor, but shrunk.
Cons: The downside seems to be the "reverse from normal" rotation of the PTO, which means using only proprietary equipment built for this model or getting a reverser/adapter. Either option seems to be more expensive than the entire tractor cost me. I guess I'll just have to hire out the bush-hogging.

I bought my Kubota new in 1977 with a front loader and a backhoe. I arranged the hoe to swing 180 degrees, and install doubles wheels on the rear axle.

Pros: Very reliable.
Cons: Parts are expensive.

I'm at least the 3rd owner. Extremely strong for it's size and HP, small enough to get into tiny spaces. Wish the PTO was more conventional, but don't have any use for it at the time.

Pros: Strong, reliable.
Cons: Old, no available PTO attachments.

Nice Little Tractor
Model Year: 1978

For it age and being as small as it is. It is amazing how much power it has and how useful it truly is. We have very greasy soil when wet and the tractor performs nicely and hasn't gotten stuck once.. Features only rate a 4 because: PTO spins in reverse compared to other tractors and this means either a PTO reverser or finding older implements that used CC rotation. ours has a FEL and the use of wheel weights are a must..

Pros: Small, nimble, powerful.
Cons: PTO spins the wrong way.

Restoring Kubota B6000
Model Year: 1974

I originally got this tractor when I purchased an acreage in 1980. My career took me off the acreage the following year and I gave the tractor to my sister. Now, 32 years later, she gave it back to me in pretty poor condition. I hope to successfully restore it.

Pros: Well built tractor.
Cons: Serious corrosion of the wheels and hubs is making it challenging. Parts may be hard to find.

Kubota B6000 with Snowblower
Model Year: 1978

I was the third owner. It came with a 48" snowblower and a 42" woods mower. The blower was very worn out. I couldn't keep the V95 coupling in it for more that a few minutes because the bracket the blower mounted to would move. I redesigned the shaft that bolted to the crank by using 2 V95 couplers, letting the shaft "float" between the crank and the electric clutch. After that, I never had any trouble. Unit was just sold. I got $2500 for the package. Paid $4050. I was always looking for a tiller. Found one once but it wasn't complete. The tractor it was on was interesting. It was a Japanese version of the B6000. My butt didn't fit in the seat and it had posts to put your feet on instead of the platform that mine had.

Pros: Everything (except the flashers) worked on this tractor and it was 34 years old.
Cons: Not enough power with only 12.5 hp.

Reliable Tractor
Model Year: 1975

Work for various farmers and driving their tractors. This Kubota take the front seat for me. It's amazing how it performs after all these years. Down size not very much reliable information to be found and parts and info about parts are are very hard to come buy. It a really a hard working tractor.

Pros: It like the Engersizer Bunny, just keeps going.
Cons: Parts and info very difficult are impossible find.

I Am A Beginner
Model Year: 1987

As you noticed I acquired my Kubota yesterday. I did so on your previous reviews. I was very impressed with the trials I did. All implements were working as they should. My tractor is equipped with a single action FEL a plow and ground cultivator. I was surprised to see the versatility of the machine: 2wd & 4wd, differ. slip limiter, PTO 3 speeds, two separate brakes (left & right). If it is as tough as you guys say, I should use it for a long time and I'm look forward to it.

Pros: Kubota installed FEL.
Cons: Bolted rear attachement to the PTO.

Helping a Neighbor Repair Her Kubota B6000
Model Year: 1976

Tractor has been unused for many years. The engine appears strong as does the tranny. PTO working well. Neighbor has no manuals or owners manual. Hydraulic pump does not appear operable. Need as much info about the hydraulic system as possible. Most of the instruction stickers showing lever functions are faded and unreadable. Any help would be appreciated.

Pros: Longevity.
Cons: No manuals.
