B7100 Kubota
Amazing Over Worked Little Friends
Model Year: 1996

I was raised on a mid-west farm and have driven a lot of tractors. This Kubota is just amazing. I bought it to landscape a 1 acre lot and it had done the job admirably. It has never disappointed me. I have a 4' brush cutter and do some odd jobs mowing short weeds, tall 4'-6' weeds, 4' brush and it just asks for a little time but has never refused to do the job. I've had a fan belt break, a fuel hose leak but nothing more. I wish it had better headlamps, a heat gauge instead of the 'whistle', and the ability to use the brakes to aid in turning. But all in all, it is a great worker.

Pros: Versitility, powerful for 16 HP.
Cons: Headlamps, lack of heat gauge. The shield around the PTO makes it very hard to hook up the PTO.

Kubota B7100
Model Year: 1980

When I first saw this little tractor I laughed and asked my son what are we going to do with that? After some convincing and a little demonstration, we made a deal and hauled it home. This little tractor is possibly the best investment for the money I have ever made. So far, it has done every task I've asked it to. It seems to have plenty of power and has never failed to start, even at -12 one morning to push 1 and a half feet of snow. Controls are easy to get to and so far maintenance is simple. I look forward to many more hours on this little work horse.

Pros: Runs forever on just over 3 gallons of diesel.
Cons: I'm getting older and it's a little tuff to climb on and off.

B7100 Kubota
The Little Orange Beast
Model Year: 1982

I traded a worn out Jeep Grand Cherokee for my little Kubota. It is 4wd and I believe it will climb a tree if you wanted it to. I got a scrape blade and box blade with it and plan on getting a 4' rotary mower. It needs a little cleanup and painting, but runs great and has all the power I need for my 5 acres.

Pros: Powerful, small , tough.
Cons: Need painting and decals are a little hard to find.

My B7100
Model Year: 1982

I can't believe it can have so few horsepower and is able to the work it does. I have a box blade, post hole digger, 4'brush hog,and a landscape rake. I mostly use it for mowing and it is just the right size to get under my trees. Having four wheel drive is a blessing where I mow. I have never had to do anything to the engine or trany. Just change that oil and lube it. I've pulled the radiator a few times to clean out the trash sucked into the fins on the radiator. Great machine!

Pros: Very little fuel consumption and plenty of power for such a small engine.
Cons: Can't think of any.

B7100 Kubota
Trusty Old Rusty
Model Year: 1990

I downgraded to this tractor from a Branson 2910 with backhoe because all of my heavy work was done. I just needed something to move a little dirt and landscaping materials. Traded the Branson for this little Kubota at my local dealer. This is a little workhorse and I look forward to many years of service for not much money. I was able to pocket $8,000 from the deal and not feel like I had too much money sitting in my shop. I nicknamed it "Little Faus" from the movie Little Faus and Big Halsey from many years ago.

Pros: Takes up very little space.
Cons: Definitely not my Branson 2910.

B7100 Kubota
Still Running After 33 Years
Model Year: 1978

My B7100D has B219 FEL on it, and the only implement I have for it right now is a hitch bar for the 3-point. This tractor had been used at a rental shop, so she definitely got put through her paces. I bought her knowing that she had a bad clutch (more like no clutch). It took me three weeks (mostly working weekends) to split the tractor to fix the clutch and also replace almost all of the fluids. The mud emulsion in the transmission was very disheartening. I have to split her again to fix a few problems I didn't know about before I put her back together. I also need to figure out if the front cylinder is firing at all, I have my suspicions. So, after just a year, I would have to say that I am happy with this tractor. The last few weeks I have been moving trailers around and have been very pleased with it's performance. I moved my enclosed trailer that ways about the same as the tractor and keeping the tranny in LO range, she pulls nice. The tractor moves my little 14' jon-boat with ease.

Pros: Stout, pulls until it spins tires, so much handier than garden tractor.
Cons: HP range is low for implement use, lot of work getting this oldie operational.

B7100 Kubota
Refurbished Kubota 7100
Model Year: 1975

I bought the Kubota 7100 to clear scrub and saplings from my 4 acre bush block and to carry cut logs up a high grade to storage for firewood. It has also been used to move large amounts of soil and mulch. The slasher is great for general clearing, but also to remove the thousands of she-oak saplings that grew after a bush fire. I chose it as a 4WD for the difficult terrain, with turf wheels because the soil is sandy and would easily break up after a few passes by the tractor. It has new front bucket and refurbished rear slasher. The reseller had completely repainted the 7100 and fitted roll-bar, safety belt and lights per the local regulations. I got the tractor from; www.dieseltraders.com.au near Sydney, Australia They were great. when I had a problem losing pressure on one line to the slasher just after I got it, they came all the way to my place (60KM) to fix it - for free! The reseller is also a manufacturer, particularly of 3-in-1 buckets, which was custom fitted to my machine. This has proved a boon for picking up long logs and rocks, and pulling small stumps. It also serves as a light dozer blade when open. All-in-all it has proven very useful and reliable. It still performs as new. I would like a little more power, but cannot justify the cost, for the amount of work it would do.

Pros: Small, maneuverable, tractable, and flexible.
Cons: None-allowing for the older design. Would be nice to have low profile transmission to simplify getting on and off.

B7100 Kubota
31 Year Old Kubota 4WD
Model Year: 1979

For the last 31 years, my Kubota B7100 4WD Diesel Tractor has performed flawlessly. I have never had to replace any internal parts in either the Engine or Drive-Train. I did need new Brakes in 2004. I also replace the Air Filter & Fuel Filter every 2 years. Run only AMSOIL 15W-40 Diesel Engine Oil, AMSOIL Full-Flow Oil Filter & AMSOIL By-Pass Oil Filter. Also use AMSOIL Diesel Fuel Concentrate & Cetane Boost Diesel Fuel Additives.

Pros: Compact enough to fit in tight areas, under low tree limbs etc. Plenty of power in such a small package.
Cons: Too light weight to perform some tasks, especially with 6' rear blade.

B7100 Kubota
Kubota HST7100 w/ a front loader and cultivator
Model Year: 0

I purchased my tractor from a John Deere dealer. It had 230 hours on it, however the clock wasn't working and the head lights were not working. I found that a fuse was burned. I replaced it and the lights and clock began working. At 650 hours the blow by began to become excessive and I had to install a plastic 1 gallon container under the pipe. It also began to take excessive time to start it. I'm assuming that the compression is way down. When the temperature is below 40 degrees it takes several minutes of cranking to get started. I really enjoy my tractor. I excavated my new 4400 square foot home, cultivated my garden, transported rocks from the excavation to a pile and then applied them to a wainscot on the front of the house.

Pros: Easy to control, gets into tight spaces, moves quickley, easy to service.
Cons: It is small and not suited for some jobs.

Kubota B7100

I bought a used 4WD B7100 at auction to replace a B5100 2WD because 2WD didn't push snow well enough when deep. The B7100 arrived with a freeze plug out (I hadn't noticed before buying - or I would have gotten a better deal). I replaced the plug and filled the tractor. It hasn't missed a beat since. I've changed oil and filters, replaced a battery, and kept the coolant checked and topped off as necessary. I have a tiller, belly mower, and front plow to maintain about an acre with a 100 yard drive, and garden.

Pros: Dependable
Cons: No front end loader - the 7100 won't mount with the belly mower.
