I have put a lot of hours on this. The B&S 23HP threw a rod through the crankcase two years ago. New engine. Last year the PTO went out. New PTO. This year the transmission light began blinking. After ordering a new hydro, I discovered that the hydro light is actually an engine oil light. I now have an extra hydro for when this one does die. The new engine now 2 years old burns a lot of oil, no smoke and no leaks to be found, but it must be going somewhere. Will try and find a Kaw. engine when this engine bites the dust. Valves must be adjusted frequently. I understand B&S owns Simplicity so there is no relief there.
Pros: Solid mower, beautiful cut. heavy deck.
Cons: B&S engine, Mickey Mouse steering components.
