Darn Good Thing I Do My Own Repairs
Model Year: 0

It was bright and shiny, and I guess it still looks good. A lot of belt issues. About every 80 hours a transaxle belt replacement. Cutter deck throwing belts and blade pulley tower problems. Since it was new the 27hp. Kohler motor had to be choked to start even with a warm motor. Cub said it was by design. All in all it has been an experience I will not repeat. Very poorly engineered. Poor quality steering bushings, Mickey Mouse grease fittings on the front end. Cheesy steering gear. I will say my comparison is to 12 years of owning a Honda Rider that sold for $5000.00 in 1995. Why can't U.S. companies build Quality?

Pros: Wide cutting deck 54".
Cons: Poor quality, 3rd grade engineering.

Best Mower Yet!
Model Year: 2009

This Cub GT1554 is one great mower 1 1/2 acres mowed in about an hour. I don't use it for gardening, I have two old super 12 's 1968 sears with 3 point hitch and attachments for gardening and snow removal. I hope to build another Sears SS16 Sears with power lifts and a new engine in the near future.

Pros: Fast mower.
Cons: Loud!

Great But Hard to Steer
Model Year: 2010

Great tractor but hard to steer. I solved this problem with a larger steering wheel. $29 from Speedway Motors and now it is almost like power steering. I like the 54 inch deck cuts a good size path and extends to allow for easy mowing around trees and land scaping.

Pros: Fast and power to spar.
Cons: None now with the 17 inch steering wheel.
