GT275 John Deere
New Purchase
Model Year: 1996

Bought it because it looks new and has a higher rated tranny.

Pros: Made for use of implements.
Cons: Does not start as easy as X300.

GT275 John Deere
Nice Overall Homeowner Tractor/Mower
Model Year: 2000

Only a couple of problems over the past 11 years. One was minor-the dash lamps remained lit after starting. One dealer told me I needed a new alternator. Another suggested I replace the modular plug behind the dash (which was the problem). Not a huge deal but believed the first dealer (no longer in business) was trying to take advantage of me. The second issue is truly annoying. On top of the transmission there is a pivot arm which is part of the hydrive. The packing (o-ring) has come out or disintegrated and oil leaks out and creates a constant mess over the whole transmission (build up of grass, dirt, etc. I'll apparently have to live with it or tear the transmission apart to replace a .59 cent o-ring. Also, recently replace the fuel pump. To be expected after that many years.

Pros: Has been very reliable.
Cons: Poor oil seal design on top of hydrive.
