John Deere 265 Lawn Tractor

I hope this site is as good as I've been told because our John Deere 265, handed down 70's model, has blown the transmission drive belt and we can't seem to find a site that can help us get a diagram for the transmission belt and the belt spring tensioner (which blew off when the belt broke) for under $237.00. Don't have that much invested in the tractor. Tractor is ok, but need diagrams to keep it going.

Tough little mower!

I did more with this mower than JD ever intended it for. Busted the deck up a few times doing what should have been bush hog work, but in the end the 265 kept running strong. Never had any engine or transmission problems with it. Obviously there are limits for a LG tractor but this little guy far exceeded them.

Pros: Build quality, performance, ease of use, hydro transmission
Cons: Mower deck removal takes a long time, limited and expensive attachment options
