Love it. RZ5424
Model Year: 2009
Okay, I cannot say enough good things about this zero turn mower. It was the first one I ever owned and it has been mostly trouble free. Let me explain trouble free. If you mow wet grass it packs the deck and mow quality goes down. Once I found that out, I considered it problem free. Confession: I do maintenance way more often then is required. I grease all my zerks once a month. Change the oil twice a year. Visual inspection every week. Battery maintainer end of every season. 4 years on this battery. Clean mower of all grass clippings after every mow. I mow 5 different yards every weekend. I do this for 2 reasons: 1) I like a clean mower and the deck uses the holes built into the spindle for air flow. 2) I refuse to move seeds from one yard to the other. So I blow it off very well. A little about what I have done to improve my mower. I did not need to do any of this, but have loved doing it. First I change to synthetic oil after break in oil. I saw a small increase in power. Next, I change spark plugs to the E3. Wow, what a difference. Example: mowing about 2 acres of land went from 3 hours 10 min to 2 hours 35 min. No more bogging down on hills and thicker grass. I recommend them to everyone. I changed the tires to a much more aggressive tread design and that improved traction a lot. It took me a while before I stopped messing up the grass but I figured it out. On order is taller tires with a more aggressive tread. Should increase my speed. I could go on forever. I will stop. P.S. Other equipment I was considering was everything they sell in my area. This was the most powerful widest cut for $3000.00.
Pros: Very good cut.
Cons: Blade height lever and drive levers interfere with each other in highest position.
