Machine is powerful, comfortable, and easy to work on. I have had several Kubota tractors and put them through the ringer with no problems. This machine is certainly built for a lifetime for my type of use.

Pros: Works great. Does what I want it to do!

Update to My Previous Review

Now that I have a year on this unit, I wanted to update my review. For the most part, the unit rating stayed the same but I do have one issue that I think is a design flaw: both my fuel and temp gauges fog up when mowing. The dealer replaced them once on warranty but the new ones do the same thing. I don't think they will replace them again, nor do I think that will help. I think that is just the way they are. Poor venting design perhaps. FYI

It Does What I Expected

I purchased this mower to reduce my time in the saddle of a riding lawn mower. I must say, it has lived up to that expectation. I have reduced my mowing time from 3 hours down to 1. I would have given a better rating for build quality but I happen to own a Honda 4518 Rider and nothing compares to that. The 221 is a very sturdy unit and it is heavy! I found out the hard way in wet/soft ground. Just lifting the seat is a chore, it must weigh at least 50 pounds. I only have 10 hours on the unit so it may be too soon to tell, but I think this baby is a keeper. It is a bit pricey, but compared to other diesel ZTR's, not really that bad (hence my 4 for value). My 4 for features is because I feel for the price you pay for one of these, it should have a tach. and oil pressure gauge.

Pros: Fast, fairly quiet, heavy/sturdy.
Cons: No tach, cheap electrical wiring, noisy transmission.
