Since 99% of my tractor work is moving trailers or hauling pallets around a functioning 3PT is a MUST for any of my machines. When I picked up my Deutz it didn't have lower arms or lift links. I attempted to source some from Ward's Brothers, but they valued the originals at $500 bucks, which was about $400 more than I wanted to spend. Thankfully I own a part time machine / fab shop so building them was the only logical option.
I sourced lower arm ball ends, turnbuckles & rod ends from Agri-Supply and got to work in the shop. Since my 3PT lift arms are 3/4 round and the arms have 5/8 holes I had to make some custom turn buckles as well.
The multiple holes in the lower arms allow me to change the geometry for lift height or lift weight depending on the application.
