I looked a Messicks online parts catalog and TC29 rims are not that bad
Rear = $267 Ea.
Frnt = $83 Ea.
After seeing those prices for TC29 I just had to check the price for 2120 too see if they had lowered them since I last checked. Nope!
2120
Rear = $870 Ea
Rear Center Disk = $350 Ea
Frnt = $260 Ea.

From the MN DOT site - MSRP for the entire set - front & rear, wheels & tires for a TC29 is $975. For a TC48/55 (similar in size to 2120) its $2,200 for turfs/R4s. $1,900 for R1s.

I'll reiterate - if you are getting 4 tires/wheels - go thru wholegoods NOT parts.:D

Thanks to everyone who responded. I will say I have gotten a lot more information off this site than from New Holland.

This is where we stand: I would like to change the Ags to Turf tires on my TC29D but there seems to be a big difference in the rim sizes which would result is a big difference in rolling circumference, were I to order the rims recommended in the owner's manual.

The dealer from whom I purchased the tractor referred me to a "tire man" whom he felt would give me a much better deal than I might get purchasing them new from NH (about $2300 for rims and tires). That was genuinely nice and honest of him. This gent seemed to question whether the rim size I gave him from the manual could be accurate, as the diameter would be much less. He recommended I contact the OEM, Titan, and verify the rim specs. I did not follow up with that due to an excessively long telephone que.

Upon recontacting NH, I was disappointed that they would provide no information and no technical advice. They conceded that district managers are trained to tackle technical issues such as this, but would not give out any names. I recontacted my dealer who gave me the name of the District Manager. I emailed him with the quiry regarding the rim diameters and he emailed me back rather promptly and informed me he does not deal on a retail level and provides support for the dealers only. That sucks.

I can only conclude that there is no interest on their (NH's) part in providing any technical information of benefit to the consumer. I consider this to be a significant failure on this company's part and am disappointed that nowhere in there infrastructure can you get an answer to a simple queston. While I will concede this (TC29D) is a mere toy compared to the behemoth tractors that grace their sales lots, my expectations were higher. For now I guess I will just blow it off.

My own experience is that only the fronts tear up the turf and only when turning. Therefor I added only turf fronts and keep the R-1 rears for traction. Then stay out of 4wd. You can let some air out of the rears to soften the footprint if they are not loaded with brine. The front only changeover is a breeze if you have a loader to lift them off the ground and add an 18v battery powered impact wrench to the kit.

From this site - page 12 of 57 MN DOT New Holland TC (pdf)

You want NH Reference # 825160416 25X8.5-14 R3 (Turf) $275 and 830260403 13.6X16 R3 (Turf) $700. Call your dealer back - speak to the manager- tell him to get his lazy salesman to look it up in his wholegoods pricing book. It should only cost you $975 for the set at full MSRP. Might be some shipping too.

The large difference in the rim size is because the turfs are much higher profile than the ag tires (more rubber around the rim). You should get all 4 to keep the 4wd gearing in spec - mixing and matching could damage the driveline. I've got both Turfs & R4s on my TC18 - all 4 turfs are smaller diameter than the R4s. See some pix here Industrial to turf

Don't get discouraged.:D

I have had turf tires on my 1530 (same family as your TC-29) for 8 years. The tractor has been use mostly for mowing, but I also use it to till, plow and pull logs. Over all, the turf tires have worked well, especially on wet, soft ground. I do not notice a foot print unless working on muddy ground. If they get muddy, they will not shed mud very well. The best of both worlds would be to have the ability to change back to Ag tires with a simple wheel swap.

This is a long overdue follow up on my quest to replace the Ag tires on my TC 29D with turf tires. Kudos to Hazmat for suppying the order number and price for replacement tires with rims. This was much less expensive than what I was quoted initially, being that the tires and rims were not separately itemized. Thank You Hazmat for digging up this info. I was able to put the Turfs on easily enough and they are just what I needed. I might mention a couple of things to anyone looking to do this. First, the top speed is a little slower due to the smaller diameter tire. Second, the ride is MUCH better, as one would expect. It was almost like putting shocks on the suspension. Third, the turfs are much wider than the Ags making it a little more difficult to attach some accessories like a brush mower. I have to jockey the mower slightly from side to side to get the lift arms attached...not a big deal. Thanks for all who responded. Forteatwo

You are very welcome :) - I can't take complete credit - I was turned on to the MN DOT web site from others here on tbn...

Regarding your difficulty attaching rear implements - measure the "dish" of the wheels. If they are deeper from the inside to the rim vs. the outside, you can turn the wheels around to gain a wider track and thus more room on the three point arms. Your owner's manual should mention something about this. On my TC18 when I flipped the turfs for the widest setting, the valve stems are on the INSIDE (towards tractor). Not sure about the Class II Boomers.

I never thought about it but I think you are right. The dish is a little deeper on one side than the other. I'll try it! Forteatwo
