Here is why I thought you were a lawyer:

She does not do trial work because she does not want to represent guilty people. I understand her view point. I often have to represent someone who is guilty and I have to give it my best shot at representing them.

You are right. You never said you were an attorney.

On a different note, it seems unlikely that you could possibly string together more than three days of boredom severe enough that reading my posts no longer seems like a complete waste of your time. And while I find all of your posts enlightening and riveting and would love to continue, the truth is that this post has deteriorated into the George & Gemini show and is realy serving no other purpose other than my entertainment (since you are bored and I'm wasting your time). I'd recommend that we give it a rest maybe?

So anyway...can I let my kid ride on my tractor or not?

Yes, of COURSE you can.
If anything BAD just "happens to happen" it is the tractor that is RESPONSIBLE for the outcome, not YOU personally, see the original post.
The tractor will have to bear the burden of a lifetime of guilt, not YOU.

Just be sure the kid knows better than to put hot coffee between his/her legs...

dont believe pat said you were wasting his time. I proposed that as a hypothesis to why he said that he was not responding any more in this thread. I said that in other posts I have quit responding to your threads because I personally thought they were a waste of my time. I feel that way because I am not sure anyone else can convince you that your ideas are incorrect. Somtimes I feel that discourse with you is like having a discussion with a wall. You can argue until you are blue in the face and be 100 per cent correct but the wall is not going to care. I understand how it would be hard to see how I could answer posts on here for several days if I am bored. I have a job kind of like the maytag repairman except I work on computers so I have a lot of time available while I am sitting in front of a keyboard waiting for something to break. I also believe that I said was that this was slightly less boring than what I usually do which is sit and wait for something to happen. Thank you for apologizing about assuming I was an attorney but no apology is necessary you did not hurt my feelings by calling me an attorney. After all it is not like you accused me of being a doctor or anything like that :)

I went back and looked at the post which made me feel like you had implied you got out of jury duty and that would be your post #171 hopefully I got the number right. You did not say that you did not do jury duty but the implication that I got out of the post was that you did not do jury duty. If I was mistaken I apologize but that was the implication I recieved when reading that. If you want to stop the george and gemini show that is fine with me. I am sure you have some comments in reply to what I said. .

I was just going back and reading the McDonalds case arguement in earlier posts on this thread. I am familiar with what the case was but none of the facts. Does anyone know if McDonald used a time arguement. I might have tried argueing that the coffee was hotter than you would normally drink it because many of their customers ordered coffee to go and then did not drink it for several minutes. If you served the coffee at normal drinking temperature then when you got where you were going the coffee might have cooled to a temperature where it was too cold to enjoyably drink. I am sure that McDonalds used very very compenent legal talent but that is an interesting theory for the case.

Which would STILL be ignoring the simple fact that the woman put a cup of hot liquid between her legs in a moving vehicle.

I still say stupid SHOULD hurt.

Defective I agree with you but it is obvious that something you and I feel was stupid was not enough to sway the jury. What little bit of the case that I remember the issue was that the beverage was way hotter than it needed to be. I was just wondering if the issue I spoke of was adressed in the trial.

Doesn;t matter how hot it was.. if it wasn't between her legs.. it wouldn't have burnt her.

I just picked up a bottle of acid to clean my concrete drive last week... do you think I carried it in my lap on the way home?
