Got the call today that my new mowers are in and ready to pickup. I will get some pics posted here Thursday or so after I get them.

BTW. I also got the news today that any Krones ordered after March 1 will have a 4% price increase on them. Its getting close to that time of year and the seasonal price increases are starting up.

A pair of AM 283 S mowers. Cut is 9'2". I looked at going to the 10" size but the dealer really, really needed to move these 2 units, so price won out. They are most likely a better fit for my use.

Well here's a couple of pics of the new mowers. They ended up being a $200 cheaper apeice than I originally was quoted:D . They are 2008 model AM 283 S mowers 9'2" cut. The DW says the only thing wrong with them is the color. I think she is threatening to change the Krone green to MF red.

BTW, anybody in the Eastern OK or Western AR area than needs a mower and doesn't mind buying it in the crate, the dealer has Rhino 9' mowers he is making a great deal on. PM me if interested and I will send you his number.

What was the final price on the Krones?

First of all things for posting, this section has been way too quiet lately. I was starting to have actually do work at work. :p

Just because I am infinitely curious about all things . . .

1. How did you get them off the trailer.
2. You bought two because? ( I think you said at one point your wife also mows with you. How much acrage do you two do in a season?)
3. Do you just your 4243 and your 596 to mow or do you a third machine?

1. I lifted them off with the FEL and a chain. The balance point is behind the warning sign in the pics, there is an access hole in the tarp there.
2. My wife does mow with me which is a huge time saver and provides backup just in case one machine goes down. We will mow about 300 acres of our own this year. I have 2 other custom jobs lined up that will be another 300 to 350 acres. Some of this will be mowed twice, some just once.
3. I have a MF 1433v also but it is just a around the house tractor. The 4243 and the 596 are the feild tractors. The usual method is to mow with both tractors one day and then rake and bale the next.

Thanks! I had always wondered where the balance point on the 3pt. disc mowers was if indeed you needed to lift one was. I have to say I have read a number of your MF posts and realizing that there is a MF dealer about 15 miles from my place has surely peaked my interest in the brand. They look good.

Great looking mowers! We've been looking at a Krone MoCo for next year. After checking the local farm shows, the Krone seems to be a lot heavier duty setup than the JD's, and way heavier than the Hesston/MF MoCo's. NO comparison on the cutterbars.
