I hate to admit it but 50 years ago is closer.
I know because I got my first car in 1958.
That was exactly 50 years ago.

Mine was, and I rarely mention it to anyone because it is embarrassing, was an Austin 1100 ...with an automatic no less!!! Couldn't even spin the tires on gravel ... come to think of it, maybe it had traction control.

I've owned it since 1976.

Nice. The tranny in my 1100 was no Powerglide I'll tell you! It was 4 spd though, chain-driven and shared lubricating oil with the engine, usually a recipe for disaster. Hmmm...my Traxter ATV does too.

My first vehicle I ever bought was a Hummer. Yep. . . I ain't tellin' no fibs.
