Yeah, my mom lives in Florida outside of Daytona. She picked me up a couple of the old style cans. I'm also looking at some of the steel cans that don't have this feature for some reason. I like the steel cans better anyway. I had one that was about 15 years old and it just recently sprung a leak. That's why I had to go get these new cans. I don't mind paying more for the steel cans.

Adding the filler hose (or making one yourself) helps with transferring the uh, oil.

18" Clear Filler Hose - Scribner Plastics

The tops of the jugs have a 3/4" plug that you take out and put in a nipple/barb for the hose.

I can tell you for a FACT that if you ( hypothetically speaking here..) take gasolene and put it in a glass coke bottle, and then add liquid dish detergent to it.. a good amount.. and then agitate it till it is a nice gell.. and then if you stuff a rag in the end, and light it and throw said bottle.. it will produce a sticky flamable mess that is hard to put out... hypothetically speaking of course... I in no way endorse making improvised devices like the 'fictitious' example cited in the above theoretical verbage...

In a pm, I asked how many cans Wayne needs, but no answer. I probably have too many of them for me to ever need, lol.
The subject of non approved containers brought back an old memory, and not a fond one, though it did turn out ok. I had a plastic can of gas (container marked for gas, but not approved, go figure) on the carport, where I kept my '66 Chevy. One day the bottom just gave way in the plastic can, and I had five gallons of gas in the carport, under and arround my car. I jumped in the truck and went to work in record time, loaded up a pallet of oil dry (Foreman thought I was crazy!, but I told him I would return all unused, and pay for the used stuff) I got home, dumped several bags and started shoveling it out of the carport, into metal trash cans. Took forever to get it all up, but I finally did, and without catching the corvette on fire.

My carpenter shop owning buddie told me that he'd had his kero/elect/with/thermostat going all day and then he got late for whatever...maybe he got a phonecall, and he moved everything around and forgot to turn off the heater when he put it against the wall facing the kero can. I guess he had a vodka or two and came back out and saw his 100KBTU unit blowing straight onto the plastic can. He told me (abbreviated) that when he tried to pick the can up it stretched and the bottom stayed on the floor and he stood up with the top of it. His luck ended soon after that when he got married tho...

Sorry Folks, didn't mean to "" myself, Nines, I don't know who Jim is and I do think it's funny, I just didn't get it untill I read it the next day... 'they all start turning into one another'.
I did trimwork for some guys that always said, "Return it into itself", whenever anybody asked them how they were going to end a feature that they hadn't thought about...
