I see it too! Ooops! That is certainly inappropriate for this site. Muhammad gets in tonight around 9:30 PM (San Diego time). Until then, I do not have the "master key" to the TBN kingdom to change things like this. But I am sure he can ID why that ad is here, and keep it out of here. Sorry.

For a minute there I thought I was going nuts as nobody else seemed to see it! Whew!

All I Know is As soon as I clicked on this site this morning as I do every morning , I Got the Warning This site was trying to install an Active X Control ( I Beleive is what it said ) For the first time ever here . My Computer then Froze I Couldn,t Get away from it at all , Or Just Click the X , Even By Opening task Manager & trying to end it.

So I Ran all My scanners & Nothing was found. But Something was Using up All of the Memory & Slowing Everything down Even though this was the Only thing I had opened . I Rebooted, & Everything Was fine & acting right again. Then I started getting Popups from this site with Advertisements of Different kinds .

I,m not Complaining , Just Letting You Know , it May be Normall I just never ran into it before. Thanks again for a Great Site, & Merry christmas to All. Bob

Active X is Microsoft's answer to JAVA. ActiveX is a technology and set of programming tools from Microsoft for building interactivity with users into Web pages and application programs. ActiveX includes what Microsoft used to call Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) and adds more. There are ActiveX controls and ActiveX documents. Controls are objects that can be embedded into Web pages (for example, small messages that pop up unexpectedly or images that become active when selected with a mouse) or into application programs off the Web. Controls are roughly similar to Java applets. Documents are objects that are viewable and navigable with a viewer.

You can adjust settings for and/or turn off Active X in your Internet Explorer or Firefox settings. Or, you can set it to "request permission" each time to run. However, you are going to have to click every 2-3 seconds, since virtually every web site uses Active X in some form. It is necessary for many ads, too.

Go look under security/options in Firefox to change ActiveX settings.

I'm running windows 98 OEM and just got my first ever bottom pop-up. I was on TBN at the time although it's probably just a coincidence.

I guess everyone saw something in the news recently about another security flaw in Internet Explorer. I first read about it on the 16th, then on the 18th Microsoft had a "fix" or patch which I downloaded and installed. I'd had no problems for awhile with IE7, but in the last few days, Internet Explorer hangs up once or twice a day, and I mean locks everything up; can't even close IE. The only thing so far that I've found to do is "restart". And of course, I don't know whether that security fix had anything to do with that or not.
