New Guy, HELP: Kubota or Mahindra?

/ New Guy, HELP: Kubota or Mahindra? #61
In general, as I've posted prior, it is really tough to knock Kubota, they are a strong machine, mine were bulletproof, I mean in a shocking sort of way, put a loader and backhoe on a 12.5 HP 2 cyl. diesel Kubota (2 wheel drive by the way), and dug 2000lb bolders out of the ground.

That is very impressive, any pics by chance. To me it is unbelievable what you guys do with those small tractors. ;)

Here's a good picture of the machine, sorry for those who've seen this already as I've recently posted in other threads.

I wish I had a picture at hand of it picking up a monster rock, that computer crapped out, but I've got a CD somewhere with some pictures I've got to find.

this is turned into an info war lol. I like reading stuff like this cause it helps out some. Although i was looking more into a Kubota, i did contact the Mahindra dealer and seem that i can get the tractor i posted about 4025 in 4wd for the same price as the 2wd mx5100 kubota. Now the place were i will be mainly working at is more flat ground with a few small hills but nothing big. We used to own a Massey Furguson 2wd 40 hp and it did the job at the same place no sweat. Yet for the same amount of money i can have a 4wd?? i dont know yet. I work offshore and i wont be in until march the 26th so i got some thinking to do i guess lol. I thank yall for the info and help.

I should have posted this before. I didn't notice your thread though. We made the mistake of purchasing a Mahindra in November/December of 07. We factored price in and it was a HUGE mistake. The dealer network isn't near as strong and the dealers always have a long wait for service. We are close to the headquarters in Tomball and they don't even care what you think about them when you are close to them.

2 thoughts:

1. The Kubota has 44 PTO horsepower, the Mahindra has 31. To me, that is a lot.

2.

Plus i like the kubota attachments a little better then i did the Mahindra ones. I think i gonna go with the Kubota iv heard alot better stuff lol.

Don't get to hung up over the branded attachments. You can often find better offerings from third party manufacturers such as Woods, Land Pride, and others.

I don't have a dog in this fight, nor do I have a ton of experience with tractors, but I tend to agree with the 4-wheel drive advocates. Get a heavy load in the FEL and imagine how much weight is then taken off the rear wheels.
When researching before committing to buy a tractor I read a lot of forums of different tractor owners and their complaints. Yes, each brand had many recurring complaints and Kubota was no different. While different brands had individual complaints, Kubota seemed to have one recurring complaint. No tool box! I figured that if that was all they had to complain about, then Kubota was for me.... I bought an L2800 and now, I have a complaint... I wish to heck I'd bought the next size bigger. Anyone else ever made that wish?

LOL I have made that wish in the past, but now I wish that I just had a reliable tractor. The Mahindra is down once again, a 50 horse reliable tractor is so much better than a 60 horse one that is broke down monthly.

We did find the underlying problem to our tractor yesterday. A part that hadn't been checked by any of the dealers and should have been warranty last year when we first started brining it in for this problem. Of course Mahindra doesn't care.
