Hi folks,

Pulling the trigger this week on a B2620 TLB. I will use the FEL without the backhoe from time to time, so I figured I would get the tires filled. Are filled tires OK with backhoe use? Thanks!

My Kubota B7800 manual says no, but I think that most folks ignore that advice and have them filled. Mine are filled...

My new B3200 TLB Has the rears filled with Rim-Guard which my dealer recommended, and I do have a B76 Back-hoe. Just finished moving 20 yards of top soil around house and yard, no issues at all.

I'm in the same boat with Mike... I have a B7800 and the manual says to remove the ballast from your tires when using the backhoe. I run mine with ballast because the dealer said it was OK. If they are wrong, they can work it out with Kubota.

As others have mentioned, the manual says no liquid ballast with the BH mounted but it isn't feasible to drain the fluid to use the BH. Having your rear tires loaded have way too many advantages than not loading them.

So does anyone know what is the issue is with having the rear tires filled with a backhoe in use?
I too asked the dealer to fill the rears on my L4240 when I bought it and the BH90. He did not even mention it being an issue. It was after I was home and reading the manual I noticed the recomendation to not fill them with backhoe.

I do not "know" why Kubota recommends what they do. What I do know is that I have my back tires filled and also have 412 lbs of additional wheel spacer/weights on the back axle. My rear wheels are each SPACED 3" away from the axle flanges. The only detrimental effect that I have experienced was that of the stabilizers sinking into the ground on soft or wet soil. I have installed 2 x 6 x 18 pads on them to solve that.

Tell me what this little tractor can't do, then stand back and watch me do it.
