Wooh dude,[learned that on lost],you are one scientific lawnmower blade man,and I don't want to be within 50 yards of you when your mowing.

Say Crook038, how about some pictures of those modified blades the next time you have the deck off?

Crook038, that is one beautiful looking lawn. You set the bar very high for the rest of us! Nice work.

Thats right, you gotta spend well over 4 grand on the 300 series deeres to get a deck that is around 50 inches.

I don't know why any one with an acre or so yard would want anything smaller, maybe cause thats all they can afford with a deere 300 series.

I was mowing with A CC GT2554 with a 54 inch deck.
It beat any under an X 700 series JD on both price and value in my book.

I do have to ask why you would buy the LA165, when the price is not too far away from the price of the x300. I do agree that the LA135SE is a good value for what you get, but I think I would go ahead and buy the x300 before I would spend the money on the higher end 100 series. Is there something that I am overlooking? I've been considering an LA135SE since 1*the boss is not too keen on the idea of using the new orange B7510 for mowing. Proof that bigger is not always better.
I* Why not????

The 100 series deeres,[I'm talking about deeres, not cub cedet],you can get 50 and over decks, but every body considers them cheap low quality lawnmowers. So if you want a 50 inch or more in next deere line up[the 300 series],its going to cost you about 5 grand[or so,ain't checked lately.]

I really wanted to get the 300 series, but didn't want to spend that much at the time. There is a big price jump when you compare deck size of the LA165 and comparable in the 300 series. Here are pictures of my stacked blades.

Crook038

Thanks for the pics, I may try that on my L135. How much time do you have
the double stacked blades? I was wondering if the bearings will hold up.

Thanks for the pictures of the blades Crook038. Any particular reason you went with a rectangular "X" versus a square "X" layout?
