I was blissfully unaware of the new CARB compliant cans until recently when I tried to purchase a couple of diesel cans to feed my new BX2620. What a WORTHLESS system. I'm not talking operator error, nozzle improperly installed.........these pieces of crap simply LEAK!

It AMAZES me such an inefficient "fix" has been pushed onto the American public.

Where do these bureacrats get these ideas??? I'd hazard a guess that some EPA idiot was the Source. Fed by faulty report stating "X millions of gallons of gas are leaked and spilled annually" , the EPA goes on a Crusade. Problem being the FIX is FAR worse than the perceived PROBLEM.

I agree,They just need to be adjusted,
i.e. drill a hole and ,add your own vent.

New and Improved doesnt cary any meaning now adays..

New and Improved = we redesigned to cut costs.
Now even better = we redisigned so that we can charge you more.
Green = we changed our process to use cheap materials, but we're charging you more.
30% more = we started producing a 30% smaller package that we sell to walmart so they can charge you 25% less.

There will be more gas spilled with these rotten new enviro gas cans than with the old ones.

I think the engineers who designed these things must pay someone else to cut their grass.

The government is sticking it to us in many ways....this EPA crap is one of many MANY others.

You can fix this EASY....drill a hole and put a screw in it for a vent. If the button type openers are an issue, a pair of needle nose pliers took care of mine in 30 seconds. Worry about all the other crap that is going to cost us huge dollars. From bailouts to the redistribution of wealth to the roller skate they want us to drive.

Come up to Canada:D

You can still get vented cans here (vent is built into the nozzel, but it works excellent). Or order the vented type nozzels and have them shipped.

Hey I'm in Canada and the picture you show of the gas container with vent is built into the nozzel is the worst design I've ever used. Takes for ever to pour. I curse the person responsible evey time use it. I'm going to drill a real vent in it as descibed up the posts.

Too bad your having problems. Ive got 6 or 7 of the old style in several different sizes with the traditional vents and the new style is WAY better. It flows just as fast or faster, plus the can is better balanced. And there's no vent cap to lose which if your as forgetful as me sometimes, is a bonus.

I tried an Enviro-Flo(TM) nozzle on a vented can and the "use prevention valve" leaks like crazy when the can is vented.

In whose universe does a 2" rigid nozzle prevent spilling? You can't even empty the can! Oh yeah, you can buy a pop-on flex extension for a buck. I'm sure that'll pop off just when you don't want.

But still- having these new carb style spouts spills and wastes more then old style did. How can this still be environmental friendly. How come no one has stepped up and prove that its worse then ever and the carb law is causing more of a mess then it was designed to do ? Where are our senators listening to this?
Not everyone has the kind of space like lbrown has to have his own delivery system and pay the bucks to have it delivered to him. I hate to think that 5 to 10 years from now he might encounter the same problems some of us have encountered. algae growing in his tanks, plugging up the filters on the diesel tractors. Not all of us use 55 gallons or more in short period of time hence the reason we buy the carb cabs. I say majority of us (over 60% to be on safe side) uses small 5 gallon or smaller cans for gas and diesel.

We can't afford to waste the precious fuels with this wasteful new style spouts and cans, even if the prices drop, I don't want to be spilling anything to cause a chance to have a fire or kill the grass, etc.
