Kioti CK30 HST
After sitting on the fence for a couple of years I think I finally decided on a Kioti CK-30. My local dealer offered me a choice (same price) on either a Woods BH80-X or the Kioti KB 2475 backhoe.

Other then the Woods is guaranteed for 2 years opposed to one year for the Kioti model and the fact that I can select a THUMB (extra cost) for the Woods brand are these models similar in durability and function.

Given the same choice what do all you pros out there think? Which model would you recommend?

Thanks guys,, I'm nervous as a cat in a 6 dog town.

Aren't the specs for the Woods BH80-X a bit better than for the 2475? That and the extra 1 year warranty may favor the Woods backhoe... slightly. I'm assuming that the woods is frame mounted, correct?

BTW, A clamp-on thumb can be purchased for the 2475 as an aftermarket product.

I just posted these pics a day ago on another post. I really like the thumb on the Woods backhoe model BH70-X, the thumb has seven positions. The local dealer (did not buy from him) was going to weld on a two position thumb on a Kioti backhoe. Got my unit out of the country, in Oregon, (I live in Canada) from Tony at Superior Tractor. The unit is just over a year old and have 129 hours on it.

I added a Woods BH80-X to my CK25 about a year ago. I am very happy with the tool and recommend it highly. My dealer was decidedly not high on the Kioti BH in comparison to the Woods. If you will take a look at the differentiations between Woods versus others, you will see the advantages of Woods.

That's what makes the Wood's choice so nice. The numbers are better and the warranty is double that of the Kioti all for the same price.

I was just curious if durability is there and for those of you that may have them, how are they attached and how easy do they attach. Any problems there?

One last question, what kind of ground clearance do we have with the Woods hoe?

Any problems connecting or disconnecting it. Dealer told me its a frame attach though different then the Kioti connection. I'm just curious if the connection is rugged and if you ever had problems with it.

Easy off, easy on. Like any attachment you have to gain a level of comfort, understanding and ease to get the best from it. I have no regrets going Woods over Kioti.

Look at it this way. Kioti designs and builds tractors. Kioti buys someone elses backhoe, paints them orange and puts a Kioti label on them.

On the other hand, Woods designs and builds backhoes. Woods paints some of their backhoes orange and keeps their label on them.

IMO, better to go to the source.

I've got a Woods BH-90X on my DK45S and I LOVE IT. It had the woods thumb which if you've got the extra cash then I would buy it. I told my dealer I was going to buy it and he just as much said the Kioti BH was not the way to go. I've had zero problems with the Woods. On the DK a sub frame was required. I don't know if it will be required on your Kioti.

Good luck on whatever one you choose.

I also have a CK30 with a Woods BH-80. Several of the Kioti dealers in my area, Upstate NY, sell Woods implements as well and recommend the Woods FEL and Backhoe over the Kioti offerings. The Woods backhoe subframe is strong and stays on the tractor when the backhoe is off. I believe most of the Kioti subframe comes off with the hoe. I side benefit of the Woods backhoe subframe is that it protects the hydraulic oil filter from damage. The Woods website has pdf's of the manuals for the subframe and backhoe.

The design of the woods subframe is high, tight and doesn't reduce the ground clearance. Attaching the hoe consists of 2 bolts at the rear of the tractor, no crawling underneath. In my opinion there is no comparison.

Thanks dig'em for that info.

I read through the Wood's manual and in the hydraulic plumbing section they are showing a connection to the tractor, do you know if that will work in conjunction with a factory Kioti rear remote kit? It looks like the Wood's plumbing is set up as always on, unlike Kioti that has an A-B and off control.

I was glad to see Wood's stated to use the bypass hose when the hoe is not attached to prevent damage, you can read all about what happens if you don't in another thread.
