Don't know what its called, but does anyone know if JD offers an adjustable link (that goes from the rockshaft arm down to the side draftlink) and it uses a crank handle to adjust the length with? I've seen it on other tractors and it beats having to loosen the two nuts and then rotate the middle link by hand to adjust the height or angle of an implement. If JD has one, and it doesn't cost too much, I think I would like to get one for my 790 to adjust my BB with when I work on the roads at my hunt club. If JD doesn't have one, what about an aftermarket brand? Thanks.

Keith

My 4310 has a manual one on it. If you want a manual one I am sure Deere could get one for you. I am not familiar with the 790 but it is hard for me to believe you cannot adjust yours. How do you level a box blade??

If you are looking for hydraulic try CCM there are hundreds of post discussing top and tilt. Top is hydraulic top link and tilt is hydraulic tilt.

Oh, the 790 has an adjustable link. You just have to loosen the nut on either end of the middle section, turn it by hand t oadjust, and then tighten them back up. But, you pretty much have to get off the tractor to do that. I'm looking for one with a crank handle that I (hopefully) can reach from the operator seat and adjust the height by cranking it up or down. I guess you call it the poor man's top and tilt.

Does your 4310 have the crank handle on it? If yes, can you adjust it from the operators seat????

No, My 4310 has the same setup as your tractor has. I misunderstood what you were looking for. I bought the hydraulic top link from Surplus Center(sponsor here)and love it. I could not justify the 4th service for the tilt hydraulics.

The top hydraulic link is nice but what do you do if the tractor doesnt have hydraulic outlets on the back? The tractor im talking about is a JD 3720. Are hydraulic outlets expensive?

My 1070 had that adustable side link with the handle that turns a gear to adjust. You are gonna have to get off to adjust it. Any thing from JD is gonna be expensive, measure yours and look on the tractor supply web site.

Ditto that... my 970 has the hand crank on it but like the 1070 it can't be reached from the seat unless you got some really, really long arms. It can be difficult to raise with a lot of weight hanging on the 3pt as you don't have a bunch of leverage with the small handle.

Does the 790 have clevis or ball joint at the top of the side link?

I may be selling the CCM side link that I had with my Kubota B7100. It has a ball joint at the top, but the B7610 that I just got (sold the B7100) uses a clevis.

To be honest, I can't remember for certain how my side links attach at the top, and the tractor is about 60 miles from me. Maybe someone else here who has a 790 can look at theirs and tell us?? I do know that the adjustable sidelink needs to be about 19inches long for the attachment to sit level before doing any adjusting.

If the one you have will fit my 790, I may be interested in buying it from you if you decide to let it go.

My 950 has the handle adjustable side link as well.

The link on my 950 has a clevis at the bottom and a pin at the top. I do not know the proper name for the top, but it is a solid piece of steel with a hole in it that slides onto a pin coming out of the rockshaft. A lynch pin goes through the rock shaft pin to hold it on.
