Derekw71, what size is your tractor? If you have a smaller tractor, you most likely can get away with a rake that is not of top quality. But as the tractor size goes up, you will need to get a rake that is better in quality. I know this from first hand experience,

I spent around $500 for an 8 foot MidWest landscape rake to use behind my 7520 Mahindra. Figured that I was only going to be raking the ground with it. How good did it really need to be, it's just a rake. Well, bent it the first day that I used it

and after 3 days of use, it was time to rebuild it.
That Fred Cain rake is about the best factory setup that I have seen, I've never seen a Unique rake, can't make any comment about it. Again, if your tractor is bigger, be sure to get a good rake, if you go cheap it will cost you in the long run. When it comes to implements, you usually get what you pay for. Maybe look for a used one, you can get some very good deals every once in awhile. Here are some pics of mine after I rebuilt it. The 7"x 4"x 3/8" wall tube has made the rake very tough, I should rebuild the 3pt hitch someday, but it has been ok for now.
Good luck
