Rake Looking for a Bad-ss Landscape rake

Hi all. I've been breaking my neck trying to find a deal on a good landscape rake. A Good friend of mine has one that does an amazing job.. The name brand on it is "Unique". I'd be interested in buying one of the same if anyone on here has one for sale, but I also am interested to know if any of you have any other good suggestions or are particularly impressed by one you own or have used. Thanks!

Derekw71, what size is your tractor? If you have a smaller tractor, you most likely can get away with a rake that is not of top quality. But as the tractor size goes up, you will need to get a rake that is better in quality. I know this from first hand experience, I spent around $500 for an 8 foot MidWest landscape rake to use behind my 7520 Mahindra. Figured that I was only going to be raking the ground with it. How good did it really need to be, it's just a rake. Well, bent it the first day that I used it and after 3 days of use, it was time to rebuild it.

That Fred Cain rake is about the best factory setup that I have seen, I've never seen a Unique rake, can't make any comment about it. Again, if your tractor is bigger, be sure to get a good rake, if you go cheap it will cost you in the long run. When it comes to implements, you usually get what you pay for. Maybe look for a used one, you can get some very good deals every once in awhile. Here are some pics of mine after I rebuilt it. The 7"x 4"x 3/8" wall tube has made the rake very tough, I should rebuild the 3pt hitch someday, but it has been ok for now.

MtnViewRanch, Hey thanks for the reply. I have a Bobcat ct440 (40 hp). Till I got this tractor and even still today I have been having a friend of mine grade out my driveway. His rake almost seems to be a box scraper and a finisher all in one setup. The rake he has (unique) has a set of teeth that pretty much dig through whatever is in front of them, the second set which is really just a bar or plate smooths it out, and the last deal puts a cool finish on the whole thing. Pretty hard to describe. I'll get a pic posted of it next time I see it. I'm sure alot of it has to do with skill but it sure does a good job tearing out pot holes and making my drive look like a million bucks. Gonna look on youtube and see if I can find a pic of that Fred cain you were speaking of... Thanks!

I bought a very heavy duty Landpride that has the added feature of being able to shift the rake to either side of the tractor rather than centered. This is an especially valuable feature to rake out road gutters while keeping the tractor wheels on the road.

I can't figure out how to log into Photobucket to post a picture, but will do so shortly.

The connection to the 3 point hitch is hd with plates on both sides of the pins for a stronger connection.

I couldn't be happier with this rake, but it is quite expensive at $1400 or so. I've not regretted spending the money for a quality attachment as I use the heck out of it raking about 2 miles of my dirt roads removing leaves sticks and branches.
