Oxygen & Acetylene Cart.

I finally got my cart finished today... I've been working on it in the evenings after working on firewood all day.

I used an old 'hand truck' that I forgot I had, and it had 2-flats when I found it in the barn.

I cut the axle off and cut it in half.. Then I welded each end into a piece of pipe and welded it back on.

I made a cage to go around the tanks, and bolted it on.. I can take the front piece off to get the tanks out.

I also welded a wider plate on the bottom for the tanks to sit on.

On the axle the small green piece of pipe is used as a wheel spacer.

I also added a small box for soapstone and other accessories.

Now fetch a piece of pvc to strap to the frame to hold your welding rods.

It started getting dark when I put the tanks on, because I worked on firewood all day.

I turned a 'two-wheel' into a '4-wheel.'.. It pushes real easy on gravel, and with the wide wheel span it won't turn over sideways.

When I use my cutting torches I do my cutting on gravel... I don't like to use them on blacktop or concrete, because of all the slag.

The only thing I have left to do is paint my tanks, and I'm planning to add a piece of pipe on the top so I can pull them behind my ATV.... It will be like a hitch that I can bolt on when needed.

I had a box full of the 10-inch wheels that I bought years ago for $1.99 a piece.

Are you allowed to paint your tanks? I dont think i can (dont think id waste the paint if i was allowed ). Mine get exchanged and the colour matters (some different gases are different colour tanks).

If you attach your tanks to your atv, make sure you keep your Acetylene near vertical and remove your regulators and cap your tank before moving.Just to be safe.

Man I got to tell you that you got one nice slick looking cart. I never thought one could take an old hand cart and turn it into something cool plus functional like that. As for the color of the bottles. When I built my "Crazy Cart" I made a sock to cover the Argon bottle.

Great job there buddy. Love the outcome. Oh. I have orange paint left over from a job if you would like to have it

Nice cart, Bill! I never thought of making a dually out of one! Usually when I think of something I have that I could use for a project it's after I've already bought or made something else!!
